Welcome to my first "Enhance Your Design Views" posting.
My friends have all told me I write well, and I do enjoy writing and creating imagery....so here I am doing my first design blog! I am a rather detailed person who is also very creative and the two usually work well together, as long as the creativity comes first in the process, with the rounding up of all crucial details later. After the interior concept has emerged and blossomed in all its possible design elements is when the details kick in and carry the project to completion. I do love a good project.
However, in these economic times, it seems as if design projects are fewer and our budgets are a bit slimmer. So how do we stay creative when it feels as if there is a ball cap on our heads, holding in those creative thoughts which want to go all out, but are held down by limited scope and spending plans?
It's simple. Keep it simple and GO WITH THE FLOW! Go back to your design roots and start with a simpler plan and be happy to work it! Believe me, it will re-energize you as it has me. It will bring back the sweet simpleness of the task at hand. I have been re-inspired through these tough times and have remembered my beginnings which were full of newborn power-packed ideas and endless energy. Learning to love your profession all over again... who wouldn't want that? As we are all being pushed to reinvent ourselves, our lives, our jobs, perhaps we'll figure out in this downturn what is really important, what we love to do and do it! Put on your 2009/2010 goggles and take flight on some new views.
And so...when I am between those larger projects, which is more often these days, my main focus is on "enhancing your design views", which really means personalizing your spaces to reflect what your loves and goals really are. Create a sort of "vision board" in the interior spaces of your home. What you are looking at daily inside or outside your home should be an inspirational field of dreams for you. More to come....

Hi Pam, this is Daryl's daughter. She told me you started a blog so I had to check it out. It looks great and I'll share the link with some of my friends who write design blogs :)
